 Beyond mere recitation, the one prayer that Jesus taught -- the Lord's Prayer – is a comprehensive spirituality for healing humanity's deepest wounds and transforming every dimension of existence: personal, relational, social, and structural.

Through his teaching of this prayer, Jesus provided a spiritual manifesto and a way to bring heaven to earth through our daily lives. In this book Tim Clayton recovers the Prayer's original thematic and rhythmic structure through three practical pathways:  Encountering God (The gift of being as creaturely); Bringing that Encounter to Ourselves and Others (The importance of humble love and forgiveness); and Healing Humanity’s Wounds (The courage to stand up to empire orderings of the world). 

Tim Clayton grew up quasi-rural North Carolina on a small family farm in an atmosphere that was Wendell Berry-esque. He and his wife and family moved to Maine and began an ecumenical community focused around the nexus of Christian faith, ecology, and care for the poor. He ministers at Trinity North Shore, whose core language is “Connecting with God, Community, and Creation.” And currently he is also a student in a Masters in Sacred Theology program at the Yale Divinity School, focusing on religion and ecology.
