A contextual Christian theology in terms of Chinese religious and culture: particularly Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism

Using the methodology of comparative theology, Hongyi Wang draws on Chinese traditional culture (Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism) to reinterpret the essential Christian doctrines. His “Daxiang theology” fills the gap between the old and new generation of Chinese theologies. Given the misconception among numerous Western Christians and scholars that China does not have a theology, this book, serves as a vital bridge to introduce the depth and essence of Chinese theological thought to Western readers. My goal is to reconstruct a Heaven faith and a way of Chinese salvation in the light of the Christian faith. 

Hongyi Wang earned a bachelors in theology from Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, and MA and STM from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. He is currently attending Loyola University Chicago.
