As we continue this journey of invitation and reflection, I want to invite you once more on the Border Immersion in El Paso and Juárez (October 11 to 16, 2026).

This experience is not designed to be understood from a distance. It is an invitation to enter into relationship with communities, ministries, and individuals whose lives are shaped daily by migration, displacement, and resilience.

In El Paso and Juárez, we will spend time with organizations and people who accompany migrants and families on both sides of the border. We will listen to stories, observe realities that are often reduced to headlines, and reflect on what it means to encounter others with attentiveness and respect.

The purpose of this immersion is not to arrive with answers, but to be present in a way that allows deeper understanding to emerge.

A Deeper Layer Of Preparation

 

For those considering a more intentional path of formation, the Advanced Missionary Discipleship Seminar (October 9 to 11) offers a space for reflection immediately before the immersion.

This seminar is not required for participation in the immersion, but it provides a grounded space for listening, theological reflection, and spiritual preparation before entering into the lived experience of the borderlands.

Together, the seminar and immersion form a connected journey of reflection and encounter, though each can be experienced on its own.

A Moment To Consider

As these invitations continue to unfold, this may be a moment to pause and ask what kind of encounter you are being drawn toward this season.

Some will feel called to enter both experiences as part of a deeper arc of formation. Others may feel drawn to one.
