Born and raised in Los Angeles, Rabbi Nahum Ward-Lev founded and leads Beit Midrash of Santa Fe, New Mexico, a multi-faith sacred learning community. His abiding passion for the wisdom of the Hebrew prophets has been guided by the writings of Abraham Joshua Heschel, especially in his seminal work, The Prophets. Rabbi Ward-Lev received ordination at the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio and is currently the Scholar-in-Residence at Temple Beth Shalom in Santa Fe as well as a Fellow of the Rabbis Without Borders Initiative. An experienced spiritual director who has accompanied people of many faiths, he is a co-founder of the Jewish and Christian Dialogue of Santa Fe and rabbinic mentor for the Clergy Leadership Incubator. He lives with his wife Shelley in Santa Fe.
