Mercy Oduyoyes latest book gathers a wealth of insights under three headings--"Africa and Redemption"; "Global Issues in African Perspective"; and "Women, Tradition, and the Gospel in Africa." She brings Akan and other African traditions into correlation with biblical stories to show the reader how African wisdom from a woman's perspective offers deep insights into biblical episodes and themes.

Mercy Amba Oduyoye is a leader in the Circle of Concerned African Women Theologians in Ghana and has long been active in the World Council of Churches and the Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians.
