Overview
CATHOLIC PRESS ASSOCIATION BOOK AWARD! - SCRIPTURE

"In this extraordinary volume, biblical scholars and theological ethicists break new ground not only in their own fields but in the growing field of 'biblical ethics.' The authors shape critical methodologies as well as new insights into contemporary problems. This project constitutes a major step forward in anyone's understanding of the relationship between the bible and ethics." --Margaret A. Farley, Yale University Divinity School

"This is an intellectual feast for both biblical scholars and those concerned about an authentically Catholic ethics." --Donald Senior, in The Bible Today

"An admirable resource for any student or scholar looking for entry into the current types of research on biblical ethics emerging within the world church." --Meghan J. Clark, in Theological Studies

In this first original collection of essays on Catholic Biblical Ethics ever done in English, renowned Jesuit moral theologian James Keenan brings together distinct voices from numerous cultures and language groups. The result is a volume representing a truly global community of Catholic ethics scholars.

The Bible and Catholic Theological Ethics deepens contemporary understandings of the relationship between the Holy Bible and the world of Catholic ethical reflection. Like the four other books in the prestigious CTEWC Series, this volume aims at offering a more systematic, comprehensive, and global perspective than typical Anglo-centric or North American-focused offerings.
